[ESP Announcements] Learn About Anything at Spark!

tl;dr: Spark 2022 is happening virtually on March 12-13! Register for the
weekend-long learning extravaganza <https://esp.mit.edu/learnspark22> by
this Tuesday, March 1st!



Come take classes on anything and everything at Spark! More classes have
been added in the past few days, so even if you’ve already registered, you
can check the catalog again to see new and exciting choices to add to your
schedule! At Spark, MIT students and community members will offer over 100
classes, on topics as diverse as:



   -

   Indian Cooking
   -

   CRISPR: The Molecular Scissors
   -

   Planning Like a Pro: Learning to Bullet Journal
   -

   Intro to Quantum Physics


and many more!


Spark 2022 is a virtual program for 7th-8th graders on the weekend of March
12-13. Register for classes by March 1st at <
https://esp.mit.edu/learnspark22>!


Registration

Register for classes here <https://esp.mit.edu/learnspark22>! Classes will
be assigned by lottery. All submissions by the deadline (March 1st) will be
treated equally, so take your time to look through the catalog. As you
register, we recommend that you star all the classes you’re interested in
(at least 5 per time block), since having many stars will increase your
chance of a full schedule!


Make sure to rank your classes by the deadline, 11:59 PM EST on March 1.
Class assignments will be released on our website a few days after the
deadline, after which you’ll be able to see the lottery results and add or
drop classes.


Free Spark stickers?

Want to get fiery Spark stickers? If you can get two of your friends to
enroll in Spark, we’ll give you a sticker!  Ask your friends to fill out
the referral form linked in the student registration page once they
register. Your friends will need to write your name and ESP username in the
form, so make sure they know your username.


Cost

The total cost of attending Spark is $40. However, please do not let
financial limitations prevent you from participating in the program if you
are interested! We offer generous need-based financial aid.


Other logistics

Spark will happen virtually this year through Zoom. We will communicate
with students primarily through email in the weeks leading up to Spark, so
make sure you regularly check the email address linked to your student
account. Since Spark won’t take place on MIT’s campus, you can attend from
anywhere in the world!
