[ESP Announcements] Second Phase of Spring HSSP Registration and Lottery Results Released!

Hi Spring HSSP students,

The second phase of Spring HSSP registration is now open! If you entered
the lottery, results have been released and you can now view your classes.
If you missed the lottery deadline or just want to add another class to
your schedule, you now have the opportunity to sign up for classes
<https://esp.mit.edu/learn/HSSP/2022_Spring/studentreg>!

Lottery results

If you entered the class lottery, you can view your results here
<https://esp.mit.edu/learn/HSSP/2022_Spring/studentreg>. All times are
in Eastern
time.

Adding and dropping classes

Starting now, you will be able to add any classes that have open slots on a
first-come-first-served basis or drop classes you are no longer interested
in on our website. You will be able to add and drop classes until 11:59 PM
EST on Tuesday, February 22. Note that our website may be slow to update,
so a class may seem to have room even if it is full. Please be patient and
refresh the page if this happens.

Some classes are full or nearly full, but check back occasionally, as slots
might open up. If you are no longer planning to attend a class, please
unregister it on the website so that others may take your spot.

Liability waiver

You should have already filled out a liability waiver during registration.
You can check that you did this by searching your inbox for the email
confirmation. If you have not filled out the waiver and are under 18, you
will need a parent or guardian to help fill out the form

Once you have received email confirmation that you filled out the waiver,
check “I have completed the online liability waiver” and click “Submit”.
The deadline for completing the waiver is 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, February
22.

Financial aid

Before you view your results or sign up for classes, you will be shown the
financial aid application. If you do not want to request financial aid,
click “I do not want to request financial aid at this time”. Otherwise,
fill out the form and click “Submit”. The deadline for requesting financial
aid is 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, February 22. Financial limitations should
not prevent anyone from participating in Spring HSSP, so please request
financial aid if the cost is at all an issue!

Payment

We offer generous financial aid to participating students. Please fill out
the request form online with a short description of your need.

If you are not requesting financial aid, you can pay for Spring HSSP online
by credit card at the registration page by clicking “Credit Card Payment”.
The cost of Spring HSSP is $40; this covers all classes you are taking for
the 5 weeks. The deadline for payment is also 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday,
February 22 (unless you are applying for financial aid). Unfortunately, we
can only accept payment by credit card.

Lecture series

In addition to normal classes, Spring HSSP also has lecture series, which
are classes designed to let students attend at any point without signing up
in advance. Different topics are covered each week, so come attend if you
have free hours in your schedule! Information about lecture series will be
shared each week.

Information about how to attend your classes will be emailed to you after
February 24th, so keep an eye on the email linked to your student account.
