[ESP Announcements] Second phase of Splash registration and lottery results released!

Hi everyone,

The second phase of Splash registration is now open! If you missed the
lottery deadline or just want to add another class to your schedule, you
now have the opportunity to sign up for classes
<http://esp.mit.edu/splash2021fcfs>!

If you entered the lottery for Splash, lottery results have been released
and you can now view your classes. Before doing so, please read this entire
email. As Splash will be completely virtual this year, this email contains
important information that is different from previous years.

Adding and dropping classes

Starting now, you will be able to add any classes that have open slots on a
first-come-first-served basis or drop classes you are no longer interested
in on our website <http://esp.mit.edu/splash2021fcfs>. You will be able to
add and drop classes until 11:59 PM EST on Nov 15. Note that our website
may be slow to update, so a class may seem to have room even if it is full.
Please be patient and refresh the page if this happens.

Some classes are full or nearly full, but check back occasionally, as slots
might open up. If you are no longer planning to attend a class, please
unregister it on the website so that others may take your spot.

Financial aid

Before you view your results or sign up for classes, you will be shown the
financial aid application. If you do not want to request financial aid,
click “I do not want to request financial aid at this time”. Otherwise,
fill out the form and click “Submit”. The deadline for requesting financial
aid is 11:59 PM EST on Saturday, November 13. Financial limitations should
not prevent anyone from participating in Splash, so please request
financial aid if the cost is at all an issue!

Payment

If you are not requesting financial aid, you can pay for Splash online by
credit card at the registration page by clicking “Credit Card Payment”. The
cost of Splash is $40; this covers all classes you are taking for the
weekend. The deadline for payment is also 11:59 PM EST on Monday, November
15 (unless you are applying for financial aid). Unfortunately, we can only
accept payment by credit card.

Walk-in activities

In addition to normal classes, Splash also has walk-in activities, which
are classes designed to let students attend at any point without signing up
in advance. If you have some free hours in your schedule, come attend
walk-ins!

If you entered the class lottery, you can view your results here:
https://esp.mit.edu/learn/Splash/2021/studentreg. All times are in Eastern
time.

Other Splash Programs

If you’re interested in signing up for Splash programs run by other teams
at other universities, take a look at this page
<https://www.learningu.org/current-programs/>! There may be some programs
at a university near you.

Information about how to attend your classes will be emailed to you after
November 15, so keep an eye on the email linked to your student account. We
