Have you ever had a great idea but wished you had the resources or guidance
to make it a reality? Apply to MIT ESP’s research-based summer program,
Junction!

The application for Junction 2017 is now open! Junction, a non-residential
summer program at MIT, gives each student the opportunity to spend the
summer working on an independent study or research project under the
guidance of a college student mentor. Students will gain project and
presentation experience, explore MIT, take short seminar-style classes, and
be part of a small and vibrant community of learners. Though the mentoring
process takes place through the entire summer, students will also meet on
MIT’s campus for seven Sundays, on June 25 and from July 16 to August 20,
during which they will finalize and showcase their summer work and take
part in seminar classes and activities on campus offered by MIT students.

Please note that this year, Junction has changed in format. Therefore, the
typical day of a Junction student will be different from previous years and
students are no longer asked to apply to specific mentors. See here
<https://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/dayschedule.html#> for more details
about how Junction will look this time. Since admission to Junction is
selective, it is important that students take time to write thought-out
responses to the application questions. No applications will be accepted
after April 24, so we recommend that students start their applications
early in order to finish them on time.

The application is available online here
<https://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/index.html>. Applications are due on April
24 at 11:59 p.m. The cost of the program is $600 but generous financial aid
is available.

For any questions about Junction, please email us at <junction at mit.edu>.
Information about ESP’s other summer program, Summer HSSP, will become
available around May. Please note that students who are accepted to
Junction will not be able to participate in Summer HSSP due to the overlap
of the programs.

Best,
MIT Educational Studies Program
