Greetings from the Educational Studies Program!

Thank you for signing up at <esp.mit.edu>! You are receiving this email
because you wanted to learn more about the programs we run. We have two
programs running this spring, which you can find more information about
below or at our website. We look forward to seeing you at our programs!

***** Spring HSSP *****

Want to design a building?
Interested in spoken word poetry?
Always wondered about cutting-edge physics?

Learn something awesome at Spring HSSP! Choose up to four 7-week courses on
dozens of topics, both academic and not. Our classes this spring are on
topics including web design, bracelet making, the Cold War, creative
writing, linguistics, and engineering for international development.

HSSP will run from 10:30am to 4:30pm on Saturdays from March 1 to April 26,
excluding March 15 and April 12. The cost of the program is $40, but as
with all of our programs, generous financial aid is available! We encourage
all students for whom the cost is prohibitive to apply for financial aid as
part of the registration process. More information about Spring HSSP is
available at <esp.mit.edu/learn/HSSP>, and the full course catalog is
available at <https://esp.mit.edu/learn/HSSP/2014_Spring/view_classes>.

*The first phase of registration is open now, and will end on February
12.*You can register from your student account at <
esp.mit.edu/learn/HSSP/2014_Spring/studentreg>. This first phase is a
lottery, and all registrations submitted by February 12 are considered
equally. Take your time to look through the catalog, and choose up to three
classes per time block that you might want to take. After the lottery is
run, you will have an opportunity to register for or switch into any
classes with spots still available. This second phase of registration will
open on February 17 and close on February 23.

Feel free to email <spring-hssp at mit.edu> with any questions.

***** Spark *****

Spark, our weekend-long program for students in 7th and 8th grade, is
coming up on *March 15-16*. Come take awesome classes ranging from "DNA
Origami" to "Recyclable Fashion" to "In(tro)duction to Induction"!
*Registration
will open February 18* at <esp.mit.edu/learn/Spark>, and we'll be sending
out another announcement closer to when it opens.
