[ESP Announcements] Updates on ESP’s 2024 summer/fall programs

Hi ESP students,

Thank you for your interest in ESP and our programs! We’ve loved seeing
many of you at our programs recently, and we know that there is a lot of
interest in the programs we run. Your enthusiasm for learning is what
drives us to keep things running year after year :)

Unfortunately, ESP has made the decision to not run Summer HSSP this year.
We know many of you have been looking forward to attending Summer HSSP, and
we understand that this may be disappointing. Here are some of the reasons
behind ESP’s decision:

   -

   ESP is a student-run volunteer organization, and its members are all MIT
   students who lead busy lives. This year, we don’t have enough bandwidth
   over the summer to run Summer HSSP at the high standards we aim for, and we
   want to ensure each ESP program is a great experience for both students and
   teachers.
   -

   Additional time over the summer allows us to focus and plan more for our
   fall programs (including Splash!). We’ve been considering some larger
   changes to the way our programs run, and these might take some more time to
   get right.


Currently, ESP still plans to run Splash this November. We’re also
considering changes to ensure we offer well-rounded opportunities for all
grades 7-12 going forward. For other MIT-affiliated programs, visit

country also run ESP programs like Splashes, and you can find a list here
