Hi everyone!

TLDR: First-come first-served registration for Spark is open until 5pm EST
on March 6th. Add and drop classes on the student portal
<https://esp.mit.edu/learnspark22> by then!

The second phase of Spark registration is now open! If you missed the
lottery deadline or want to add another class to your schedule, you can do
so now until 5pm EST on March 6th on the student portal
<https://esp.mit.edu/learnspark22>!

If you entered the Spark class lottery, the results have now been released
and you can now view your assigned classes on the website. Before
doing so, please
read this entire email as it contains important information for you to
attend Spark.

Adding and dropping classes

During this phase of registration, you will be able to add any classes that
still have open slots on a first-come first-served basis, or drop classes
you are no longer interested in. You can do this on the student portal
until 5pm EST on March 6th. Note that our website may be slow to update, so
a class might appear to have room even if it is full. Please be patient and
refresh the page if this happens.

Some classes may be full, but you can check back occasionally - slots might
open up as others add and drop classes. If you are no longer planning to
attend a class, please drop the class on the website so that others may
take your spot.

Financial aid and payment

Before you view your lottery results or add classes, you will be shown the
financial aid application. Financial limitations should not prevent anyone
from participating in Splash, so please request financial aid if the cost
is at all an issue!

If you are not requesting financial aid, please pay for Spark online by
card at the registration page by clicking “Credit Card Payment”. The cost
of Spark is $40; this covers all classes you are taking for the weekend.
The deadline for paying or requesting financial aid is 5pm EST on Sunday,
March 6th.

Walk-in activities

In addition to normal classes, Spark also has walk-in activities, which are
classes designed to let students come and go at any time. You can choose to
sign up for a walk-in class in advance, but pre-registering for a walk-in
isn’t necessary. If you have some free hours in your schedule, come attend
walk-ins!

Lottery results

If you entered the class lottery, you can view your assigned classes here:
https://esp.mit.edu/learn/Spark/2022/studentreg.

Information about how to attend your classes will be emailed to you after
March 6th, so keep an eye on the email linked to your student account. We
look forward to seeing you at Spark, and let us know at spark at mit.edu if
you have any questions!

Best,

Matthew and Eugeniya
