Hi Summer HSSP students,

The second phase of Summer HSSP registration is now open! If you missed the
lottery deadline or want to add another class to your schedule, you can do
so now until 11:59pm EDT on July 3rd on the student portal
<https://esp.mit.edu/2022hssp>!

If you entered the Summer HSSP class lottery, the results have now been
released and you can now view your assigned classes on the website. Before
doing so, please read this entire email as it contains important
information for you to attend Summer HSSP.

Liability waiver

You should have already filled out a liability waiver during registration.
You can check that you did this by searching your inbox for email
confirmation. If you have not filled out the waiver and are under 18, you
will need a parent or guardian to help fill out the form
<https://na2.docusign.net/Member/PowerFormSigning.aspx?PowerFormId=32f3595d-c171-455d-adc4-a7563e5236ce&env=na2&acct=a76475db-2ab3-4a5f-b7bd-1ba6a5dd7f4e&v=2>.
Once you have received email confirmation that you filled out the waiver,
check “I have completed the online liability waiver” on the ESP website and
click “Submit”. The deadline for completing the waiver is 11:59 PM EDT on
Sunday, July 3rd.

Financial aid and Payment

Before you view your lottery results or sign up for classes, you will be
shown the financial aid application. The deadline for requesting financial
aid is 11:59 PM EDT on Sunday, July 3rd. Financial limitations should not
prevent anyone from participating in Summer HSSP, so please request
financial aid if the cost is at all an issue!

If you are not requesting financial aid, you can pay for Summer HSSP online
by credit card at the registration page by clicking “Credit Card Payment”.
The cost of Summer HSSP is $40; this covers all classes you are taking for
the 6 weeks. The deadline for payment is also 11:59 PM EDT on Sunday, July
3rd (unless you have applied for financial aid). Unfortunately, we can only
accept payment by credit card.

Adding and dropping classes

During this phase of registration, you will be able to add any classes that
still have open slots on a first-come first-served basis, or drop classes
you are no longer interested in. You can do this on the student portal
until 11:59 PM EDT on Sunday, July 3rd. Note that our website may be slow
to update, so a class might appear to have room even if it is full. Please
be patient and refresh the page if this happens.

Some classes may be full, but you can check back occasionally - slots might
open up as others add and drop classes. If you are no longer planning to
attend a class, please drop the class on the website so that others may
take your spot.

Lecture series

In addition to normal classes, Summer HSSP also has lecture series, which
are classes designed for students to attend without signing up in advance.
Different topics are covered each week, so come if you have free hours in
your schedule! Information about lecture series will be shared each week.

Lottery results

If you entered the class lottery, you can now view your assigned classes
here: <https://esp.mit.edu/learn/HSSP/2022_Summer/studentreg>. Lottery
results can only be accessed after viewing the financial aid application
and completing the liability waiver. All times are in Eastern Daylight Time.

Information about how to attend your classes will be emailed to you a few
days before the program starts, so keep an eye on the email linked to your
student account. We look forward to seeing you (virtually) at Summer HSSP
this year! Feel free to email us at summer-hssp at mit.edu with any questions.

Best,

Kate and Vivian
