[ESP Announcements] Student registration for Summer HSSP is open!

Hi ESP students,

tl;dr: Summer HSSP 2021 is happening from 7/10 to 8/14! Register by June 25
for six Saturdays of cool (virtual) classes!

Summer HSSP 2021 is a six-week program for middle and high schoolers, open
to grades 7–12 (including rising 7th graders and graduated 12th graders).
It will run on Saturdays from 1 to 5 PM EDT, beginning on July 10 and
ending on August 14. This year, you can take “Half Term” (3 week) classes,
“Full Term” (6 week) classes, or both!

Teachers from all over the planet are offering a wide variety of
out-of-this-world classes, including:

   -

   Great and Small: Crazy Electrons
   -

   Honestly Just a Book Club
   -

   Sharing Secrets: An Introduction to Cryptography

Summer HSSP offers a unique opportunity for you to explore a topic in depth
and interact with other students. Classes this summer will occur virtually
on Zoom. Check out the catalog here

classes at <https://esp.mit.edu/LearnSpacePandas>. In addition to the
current catalog, more classes will be added in the coming weeks!

Classes will be assigned by lottery. The lottery is not first-come
first-served, so take your time to look through the catalog. You can
express interest in as many classes as you'd like and rank up to three
classes per time block as “priority”. We recommend that you star all the
classes you’re interested in, since having many stars will increase your
chance of a full schedule!

Make sure to rank your classes by the deadline, 11:59 PM EDT on June 25.
More classes will be added after the lottery opens, so if you check back
later, you’ll continue to see new and exciting choices to add to your
schedule! Class assignments will be released on our website a few days
after the deadline, after which students can add or drop classes in the
first-come-first-served phase of registration.

The total cost of attending Summer HSSP is $40, which includes all six
Saturdays of classes. We also offer generous need-based financial aid.
Financial limitations should not prevent anyone from participating. If
costs are at all holding you back from attending this program, you will
later have the option to request financial aid! Payment and the financial
aid application will open after lottery results are available, and more
information about aid will be shared then.
