preferences by Tuesday, October 27th.The MIT Educational Studies Program is
excited to announce that registration is now open for Splash 2020! Splash
is a two day program for students in grades 9–12. Join us virtually on
November 14–15 in over 250 classes, with topics as diverse as: - So You
Want to be a Math Major- Intro to Bollywood Fusion Dance- Magic Systems in
Fantasy Stories- How to Produce Lo-fi Hip HopAnd many more, from our
passionate, enthusiastic teachers! Take a look at the class catalog

lottery to assign you to classes. You will have until 11:59 PM EDT on
Tuesday, October 27th to submit your class preferences. You can find the
registration steps on our website
<https://esp.mit.edu/learn/Splash/student.html>.We recommend ranking at
least 3 classes and starring at least 10 classes per time block to maximize
the number of full class blocks you end up with. All rankings and stars
will be entered into the lottery. The lottery is not first-come
first-serve; classes will be assigned after registration has closed, and
all students who register before the deadline (October 27) will be treated
equally. We will release class assignments a few days later, and you can
then add and drop classes during a first-come first-serve registration
phase.CostSplash costs $40 to attend. Generous financial aid is available
and we encourage anyone who needs it to request it. When lottery results
are released after the initial registration period, students will receive
more information via email on payment and financial aid requests. You will
have until November 5th to pay for the program or request financial aid.
You will have to complete this step before you can attend the program, so
keep an eye on your emails!Other LogisticsDue to the COVID-19 pandemic,
Splash will happen virtually this year through Zoom. We will communicate
with Splash students primarily through email in the weeks leading up to
Splash, so make sure you regularly check the email address linked to your
student account. No part of Splash will take place on the MIT campus and
the campus is currently closed to visitors. That means you can attend
Splash from anywhere in the world!If you have any questions, email us at
