Hello from the MIT Educational Studies Program!

We have a lot of exciting programs coming up! Through MIT ESP, 7-12th
graders can take a huge variety of low-cost classes taught by college
students on the MIT campus. Our upcoming programs are Spark, HSSP,
Junction and Splashes at universities besides MIT! To find out more

Upcoming Events:

Spark 2010 -  Spark is a one-day program, styled after Splash, with a
series of short classes and workshops.
Dates - Spark 2010 will run on March 13.
Student Registration -opens this Tuesday, February 23 at 8:00 PM
online at esp.mit.edu. If you want to speed things up tomorrow night
when class registration opens, you can fill out your personal

Sample Classes - Operating Systems, Parliamentary Debate, Health Care
Reform, Iron Chef ESP, Rugby 101, many more; see them at

Cost: $20 (Financial aid is easily available.Please apply if the fee
would be a burden on your family.)

Spring HSSP (MIT): HSSP is a long-term program where students can take
longer, more in-depth classes.
Dates: Spring HSSP at MIT will run five weeks on Saturdays from April
17 to May 8.
Student Registration: student registration will open in early March.
Classes: Synthetic Biology, The Music Class You've Never Taken, Weekly
World News and much more!
Cost: $20 (financial aid easily available. Please apply if the fee
would be a burden on your family)

Junction - Junction is a summer program for 9th-12th grade students
who want to take an evening, college-level course over the summer.
Student Registration - Applications will be released March 12 at esp.mit.edu
Classes - TBA; possible classes include Programming in Python, African
Studies, Abstract Algebra and Earth's Structure and Dynamics
Dates - Junction will run from 5pm-9:30pm Mon-Thurs June 30 - August 12
Cost - $600 (Financial aid easily available. Please apply if the fee
would be a burden for your family.)

In addition, for those of you who don't live in the Boston area, or
have friends elsewhere, there are many other Splashes being run around
the country. Upcoming Splashes are:

Currently, NYU, Stanford, Duke, Northwestern, University of Chicago,
Harvard and MIT all run versions of Splash and/or HSSP. A nonprofit
organization, started by MIT ESP and Chicago Splash alums, called
Learning Unlimited is working to spread these programs to other
