Dear students,

We hope you are looking forward to the fast-approaching summer break. If
you are still searching for something to do, and think taking an
experimental college-level course sounds awesome, we hope you will consider
applying for MIT ESP's Junction 2012 summer program.

Each year, over 100 motivated students join us for Junction to learn unique
advanced subjects, meet new friends, and enjoy an academic challenge in a
fun environment. Junction is a non-residential program which meets weekday
evenings, July 9 - August 16 on MIT's main campus. Junction is still
accepting applications for the following classes, on a first-come,
first-serve ("rolling admissions") basis:

Archaeological Science<http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/2012archaeology.html>
Investigate ancient societies through the eyes of a materials scientist.

Protein Structure and
Pathology<http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/2012proteinpathology.html>
Explore the mechanisms that drive protein folding, and examine how
disruption of protein structure and function results in human disease.

Biological Oceanography <http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/2012biosh.html>
>From great white sharks to the smallest bacteria, discover how the ocean’s
aquatic environment shapes and is shaped by the life within it.

Plato’s Republic <http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/2012plato.html>
An overview of Plato’s classic text as an introduction to moral and
political philosophy.

to apply, please visit: http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/index.html

More classes are closing as the summer approaches, and we expect to fill
the program and class waitlists (and thus discontinue accepting new
applications) by late May, so applying sooner increases your chances at a
spot in the program. However, since the Junction staff reads applications
selectively, it is also advisable to carefully complete thorough and
well-thought-out responses to the application questions.

We hope you will apply to join us this summer!
